It's not too late to get your Baton Rouge family holiday portrait sessions done! Lately, I've had the joy of hanging out with all kinds of fun families and  capturing exciting seasons for these little ones...for many,  it's their first Holiday Season!!

Jacob and Jessica were married two years ago after meeting each other when they were both involved in Teach For America.

They wanted to celebrate their 2 years with a photo shoot in Baton Rouge to commemorate their time here.

I have to say, I love the idea of anniversary shoots. For a couple like Jacob and Jessica, they're not sure they will be staying in Baton Rouge for the long run so what a cool way to stop time and have keepsakes and heirlooms from this time in their marriage! So be thinking about an anniversary shoot for your spouse. No matter what year it is or what season you're in, it can be a really neat way to celebrate!

Jacob and Jessica were pros at this photo shoot thing too because they've already had their engagement and wedding photography done. We had a ton of fun at some iconic Baton Rouge staples that will hopefully serve as wonderful memories for these two wherever they go from here:)

Ben...Baton Rouge Child Portraits

I had the opportunity to first meet Ben about a year and a half ago when we did some portraits of him at his home by the LSU lakes.

While hanging out with Ben a couple weeks ago, I was reminded of how special it is to get to do shoots at the client's home. Especially for child or family portraits, it makes such a huge difference to have familiar people, toys, and environment to get great shots. There comes a time when a child realizes that you're there to take photos of them, and that can sometimes be something to warm up to...

and at times never grown out of just as I still sometimes don't like my photo to be taken:)

Ben warmed up to the idea of me being there quite quickly once we started playing together on his tree house/swing set.

It's not too shabby to get to play with kids and by doing so get some great images for them to have.

Check out Ben's photos and as you plan for your family portraits..consider having them taken at home or somewhere around town that you frequent as a family especially if you have toddlers or older. Beyond everyone feeling real comfortable, it's pretty special to have natural and memorable moments captured at home.

Sofia, Naomi, Julia, and Elliott

Happy Friday!

I'm hoping these photos (of some of THE cutest kids of alllll time) will bring even more joy on this sunny Friday!

Sofia, Naomi, Julia, and Elliott are the children of two of my dearest friends at church.

Their dad, Barrett, was pretty outnumbered for several years, but not anymore.

Elliott Jude Black showed up about 2 months ago and is indeed as his mom says

"15 lbs of dreaminess!"

Grayson is 1 year old!

I love this time of year!

Consistent Christmas music listening officially started this week.

Thanksgiving is next week...which for me means several days in the mountains with the family.

And kids look cuter than ever this time of year!

It's the time when I get to hang out with so many families and celebrate with them what giving thanks, giving gifts, and getting older really means.
